To find the MAC address of your Traintrackr device, follow these steps:
- Put Traintrackr into Setup Mode:
- Press the “Setup” or “Flash” button on the board to activate the Traintrackr’s Wi-Fi network.
- Connect to the Traintrackr Wi-Fi Network:
- Use your computer, tablet, or phone to connect to the “Traintrackr” Wi-Fi network.
- Locate the MAC Address (Device-Specific):
- Windows 11:
- Click the Wi-Fi icon on your taskbar, then click on the arrow next to the Wi-Fi icon in the pop-up menu to open the “Manage Wi-Fi Connections” menu.
- Click the “i” icon to the right of the Traintrackr network to open the “Network Properties” window.
- The MAC address is listed under Physical Address.
- Windows 10:
- Click the network icon on your taskbar, select Network and Internet Settings, and choose Properties for your WiFi connection.
- Scroll down to view the MAC address.
- macOS:
- Hold the Option key and click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar to see a quick summary, including the MAC address.
- Alternatively, open System Preferences > Network, select Wi-Fi, then click Details next to your network. In the Hardware tab, you’ll see the MAC address.
- iOS:
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the “i” icon next to “Traintrackr,” and scroll down to see the MAC Address (listed as Wi-Fi Address).
- Android:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet, tap on the Wi-Fi network name, then tap the gear icon. Scroll to Network Details for the MAC address. Note: Some Android versions or manufacturers may have slight variations in settings layout.
- Linux:
- Click on the network icon, select the gear icon for Wi-Fi settings, and check Details for the MAC address (also known as Hardware Address).
- Alternatively, open a terminal and run the command ifconfig. Look under wl for Wi-Fi (e.g., wlan0) to see the MAC address, labeled HWaddr.
